Harry and Meghan Tying the NOT!

Posted by The Wish Pearl on 2018 Jul 25th

For such a popular, positive wedding for such an obviously-in- love couple, there sure have been
a lot of NOTs.

For your information and reading enjoyment, we here at the Wish Pearl thought you might be interested in hearing them. We are not trying to be negative; we just think some of the things that have been eliminated are by all means interesting, particularly if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have caught your fancy.

Well, the televised wedding is May 19, and that will be here before you know it. So here you are:

In case you are feeling bad about NOT being invited to the wedding, look at who also is NOT
invited; namely, Meghan’s estranged half siblings; President Donald J. Trump; former president
and first lady Barack and Michelle Obama. There are probably more, of course, but the reasons
are interesting, particularly as the Obamas, who are considered to be good friends of the
couple, asked to NOT be invited as as not to detract from wedding festivities. So, to keep it
simple, political leaders of any stripe are NOT be invited.

Actress Dame Helen Mirren has said she has no interest in the festivities and will NOT be in
attendance.

The Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, got a ½ invite, in a manner of speaking. You may recall
that “Fergie” is the ex-wife of Prince Harry’s Uncle Andrew, sibling of Prince Charles. NOT so
incidentally, she is the mother of Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice, the former slated to be
married at the same venue as Prince Harry and Meghan. So, with the Princesses and Prince
Andrew being invited to everything, Fergie will only see the wedding and will NOT be going to
the invitation only reception after the ceremony.

We could not resist adding that this may be the doing of Prince Charles who has made it clear
to his brother that he thinks Prince Andrew should have nothing to do with his ex. They share a
home (albeit it so large they don’t actually live together). So, Duchess Fergie is NOT in the “in
crowd,” which is primarily family and other royals.

Also, who is not Meghan’s maid/matron of honor? This one is easy. The diplomatic Meghan
has stated that she cannot pick among her closest friends. There will reportedly be NOT be any
bridesmaids at all.

A bit of gossip is in order here. When Eugenie gets married, one of her bridesmaids will be
Cressida Bonas, one of Prince Harry’s ex-girlfriends. NOT one word beyond that!
So we arrive at THE DRESS! Here is who is NOT designing it; namely, Erdem Moralıoğlu, one
of Princess Catherine’s favorite designers. Also, the designer of the Princess’ sister, Pippa
Middleton’s wedding dress, Giles Deacon, is a NOT. Victoria Beckham, although she will attend
the wedding, is NOT the dress designer, she has reported.

And the winner may be: Burberry, a Meghan favorite.

Probably to the disappointment of some, the cake does NOT have chocolate. Rather, according
to cake designer, Claire Ptak, owner of the London-based bakery, Violet Bakery, Harry and
Meghan have asked Ptak “to create a lemon elderflower cake that will incorporate the bright

flavors of spring,” the statement read. “It will be covered with buttercream and decorated with
fresh flowers.”

By the way, just in case you needed his info, there will NOT be phones, gifts, or swords allowed.
We would be remiss if we did not cover the wedding dance. There will NOT be a traditional one
for sure-- no slow or sentimental stuff here. No “As Time Goes By,” no “At Last” by Etta James.
Another NOT is "Can't Help Falling In Love," by Elvis Presley, along with no Beatles. And so it
goes.

The winner is Whitney Houston’s 1987 hit “I Wanna Dance With Somebody.” NOT a slow
dance for this married couple.

One thing more, according to his parents, Prince Louis will NOT accompany his brother and
sister to the wedding.
